How to protect the load cell from lightning

One end of the lightning generator is connected to the digital sensor housing, the sensor and the instrumentation housing are reliably connected through a shielded cable, and the instrumentation housing is connected to the other end of the generator through a cable in series with a sampling resistor. For a certain overvoltage or overcurrent impulse, after the first level of protection, there will still be residual voltage flowing to the subsequent circuit. If the subsequent circuit cannot withstand the impact of the residual voltage, it will also damage the core circuit, so multi-level protection measures are taken for the instrumentation interface circuit.

When we install the load cell, we must consider whether it will be affected by lightning strikes. Lightning strikes will not only cause damage to the sensor already equipped with the instrument, but also lead to the introduction of the sensor’s wires to other places and cause property and even personal injury.
