For most double-shear beam load cells, there are many reasons for hysteresis. In addition to the hysteresis of various raw materials and adhesives, and the local plastic deformation of the elastic body, the sliding of the contact surface between the elastic body of the load cell and other components is also a factor that cannot be ignored.

The hysteresis of the load cell refers to the difference in the output value of the sensor when the load is loaded from the zero point in a monotonously increasing manner and when the load is unloaded from the rated load in a monotonously decreasing manner, under the same load value condition. Hysteresis is usually expressed as the percentage ratio of this difference to the full-scale output of the shear beam sensor.

The elastic body of the double-shear beam load cell is connected with the base by bolts. During the loading and unloading process, the contact surface between the elastic body and the base will slide, which will cause the hysteresis of the sensor. The mechanism of the hysteresis caused by the sliding of the contact surface between the elastomer and the base, the friction coefficient of the contact surface, and the relationship between the structural parameters of the elastomer and the hysteresis were studied separately.
